A Danish Corvette Laying to in order to Confer with a Danish Brig: The Scene Being Set in West Indian Waters is a 1827 by Unknown artist, a Romanticism work, held at Statens Museum for Kunst.
This painting shows two big sailing ships on a choppy sea. The ship on the left is smaller, with three tall masts and a red flag. The larger ship on the right has four masts and looks ready for action. Both ships have lots of ropes and sails, and the water around them is rough, with whitecaps. The smaller ship seems to be waiting near the bigger one, maybe sharing news or instructions. The sky is light and cloudy, keeping the scene calm despite the busy water.
