Two rabbits smoking pipes is a 1902 watercolor by Beatrix Potter, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This watercolor shows two rabbits sitting together while smoking pipes. It was made by Beatrix Potter in 1902. The bunnies aren't Peter and his siblings from her famous book. They're older rabbits, drawn for a real boy who got the first Peter Rabbit letter back in 1893. Check out another rabbit drawing by Beatrix Potter at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
A watercolour and pen-and-ink illustration bordered in black ink lines depicts two rabbits seated indoors near a hearth, each smoking a pipe. The artist used watercolour, pencil, and opaque white gouache to render the scene, including the smoke rising from the pipes. Created by Beatrix Potter in 1902 as a gift for Noël Moore, it later appeared in altered form as the frontispiece of *Cecily Parsley’s Nursery Rhymes*. The work is part of the Linder Bequest at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
