Carington Bowles made this print long ago, around the 1700s. The sheet shows two actors dressed for a play called The Duenna. One man plays Don Ferdinand. The other plays Isaac Mendoza. It’s part of a big box of prints called the Harry Beard Print Collection. That box holds many theater scenes like this one. You can still see it at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Look up the artist Carington Bowles next.
