Guy Little Theatrical Photograph is a 1850 photographic by Barnes & Bell Brown, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This photograph is from the late 19th century. It's a work by Brown, Barnes & Bell. The photo shows Harriet Vernon in costume. This was a common practice back then, as actors and actresses would take studio photos to be used as 'cartes de visite' or 'cabinet cards'. You can learn more about this type of photography at the museum: Victoria and Albert Museum.
This albumen print depicts Harriet Vernon in costume, produced by the studio Brown, Barnes & Bell around 1850. It is one of many theatrical photographs from the Victorian era, typically issued as small albumen prints on card mounts known as *cartes de visite*, which were widely collected during the 1860s. The photograph was later removed from its backing and included in a large album assembled by collector Guy Tristram Little, whose theatrical photographs were donated to the Victoria and Albert Museum in the early 20th century.

This was the duo behind Guy Little’s backstage photos—imagine two photographers who spent every night in the 1890s theater district, snapping actors mid-breath between roles.
