This sketch shows a woman holding two kids while another child stands nearby. The woman wears a loose robe and a headscarf, and the children look simple but real. Their clothes are plain, and the lines are rough but full of movement. The artist used shading to show folds in the fabric and shadows on the faces. This kind of drawing was made by scratching into a metal plate, then inking it. Look up etching to see how this technique works.
