H Beard Print Collection

About this work

This print shows a street scene from Newcastle in the 1800s. Grey Street runs past the Theatre Royal, its big windows and fancy columns facing the road. People in old-fashioned clothes walk along the sidewalk. It’s an etching, a kind of print made with acid on metal. The image captures the theater’s style and the everyday life outside it. Look up the Victoria and Albert Museum next.
