Seated Woman (recto) is a 1815 chalk by Antoine Toussaint de Chazal, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This sketch shows a woman sitting on a low stool, her body turned slightly away. She wears a loose, flowing dress and rests her head on one hand, looking down. The background is a solid blue, and the lines are drawn in black and white chalk. The red grid lines suggest this was a study for a larger painting. The artist focused on her posture and the folds of her clothing. Check out Chazal, Antoine Toussaint de for more of his work.
