Iris jaunes et mauves is a 1924 oil by Claude Monet, a Impressionism work, held at Musée Marmottan Monet.
This painting shows a close-up of tall, green grasses and yellow flowers. The flowers are clustered together, with some of them hanging down. The grasses are painted in thick, visible brushstrokes. In the bottom-right corner, there's a small purple flower with long, thin petals. The background of the painting is a mix of light blue and gray colors. The brushstrokes in this painting are similar to those used by artist Claude Monet.
Oscar-Claude Monet was born in Paris on November 14, 1840, and raised from the age of five in Le Havre, where he began selling charcoal caricatures as a teenager.
