About this work

This is a black-and-white portrait of a man in old-fashioned clothes. He wears a ruffled collar and a chain around his neck. Above his head, two cherubs hold a banner with Latin words. The background has more writing in fancy letters, and the whole image looks like it was carved into metal. The man’s serious face and the fancy text suggest he was someone important. The style of the clothes and the writing look like they’re from a long time ago. Check out how this was made using engraving.
