Morning: A Composition is a 1825 watercolor by Francis Oliver Finch, a British Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a quiet forest scene at sunrise. Tall trees frame the edges, their leaves a mix of green and brown. A small stream runs in the foreground, reflecting the soft light. In the distance, a ruined castle sits on a hill, half-hidden by mist. The sky is pale yellow, with wispy clouds catching the morning glow. Three tiny figures stand near the stream, their faces turned toward the castle. The artist used light colors to make the scene feel peaceful and dreamy. If you like this style, look up Romanticism next.
