Overview

A drawing from a volume containing 93 sheets of sketches made in Macau and its vicinity, this work depicts a boatwoman wearing a headscarf standing on the shore beside two children, with a temporary dwelling constructed of rattan and bamboo nearby and boats sketched in the bay beyond.
