This is a black-and-white portrait of a man in fancy 17th-century clothes. He’s wearing a ruffled collar, a tight-fitting jacket with buttons, and a wig. His right hand rests on a cane, and he looks straight ahead with a serious expression. The background has a carved frame with swirls and small figures, like cherubs, holding up the corners. The name at the bottom reads *Cosmi III Magni Ducis Etruriae F*, which means this is a duke. The artist signed it as *Haelwegh*, and the paper looks textured, like it was made by hand. Next, check out how this was made—this is a great example of engraving.
