Leixlip on the Liffey is a 1852 watercolor by Hargitt, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a quiet riverside scene with a small town in the distance. The water looks calm, with a few rocks and a narrow path along the bank. Leafless trees stand on the right side, and the sky is pale with soft clouds. The artist used light colors and loose brushstrokes to capture the peaceful mood. The buildings in the background are simple, with one taller structure standing out. If you like this style, check out Impressionism.
A watercolour by Hargitt from 1852 depicts the river Liffey at Leixlip.
