About this work

This painting shows a rolling, rocky hillside under a soft sky. Jagged mountains rise in the distance, their peaks fading into light blue. The foreground is rough with big gray stones and patches of green grass. A few small figures can be seen far off, almost lost in the landscape. The artist used loose, quick brushstrokes to suggest light and shadow, especially on the rocks and hills. The colors stay natural—greens, grays, and muted blues—without bright highlights.
