The Wounded Poacher is a 1891 oil by Henry Jones Thaddeus, a Realism work, held at National Gallery of Ireland.
The painting depicts a woman tending to a wounded man in a dimly lit room. The man, shirtless and wearing brown pants, lies on a chair with his head back and eyes closed. He has a bandage wrapped around his chest, and a small amount of blood is visible on his torso. The woman, dressed in a white blouse and blue skirt, gently holds the man's head in her hands. On the floor, various items are scattered, including a rifle, a hat, and what appears to be a dead animal. A table to the right of the couple holds a bowl, a bottle, and a glass. The atmosphere is somber, with the only light source coming from a window in the background. This painting, "The Wounded Poacher," is held at the National Gallery of Ireland.
