This scene is packed with figures in a golden, dramatic glow. At the center, a woman in flowing robes holds a baby while a kneeling man reaches toward her. Around them, angels hover, playing instruments and holding scrolls. The sky swirls with clouds, and a grand staircase frames the group. Everything feels alive—soft faces, swirling drapery, and a sense of movement. The artist used a mix of light and shadow to make the figures pop, a trick called *chiaroscuro*. This wasn’t painted but printed from woodblocks, which is why the lines look so crisp and the tones feel warm. Next, look up technique: woodcut to see how this printing method worked.
