Baiern, Markt und Ruinen des Schlosses Abach is a 1839 by Jakob Alt, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This print shows a quiet village nestled at the base of a hill. On the hilltop, there’s a tall tower and some old stone ruins. Below, houses with simple roofs sit along a dirt path, and a few people walk near a small church. Trees line the foreground, with bushes and a fallen log in the bottom corner. The title at the bottom says it’s a view of the ruins of Schloss Abach, a castle that’s now in pieces. The artist drew it in a way that makes the ruins look grand even though they’re crumbling.
