About this work

This print shows a man in old-fashioned clothes holding a lantern and a walking stick. He stands on a small platform with a box beneath him, surrounded by fancy scrollwork and flowers. The background is mostly empty except for some swirling decorative lines. The title *Le Frileux* means "the shiverer" in French, hinting the man might be cold. The artist signed it with a tiny mark at the bottom. Look up Baroque to see more art with bold shapes and drama like this.
