The painting shows a woman standing in a crowded room. She's dressed in fancy clothes, surrounded by people. The artist used thick brushstrokes to create texture, similar to the technique of impasto, which is a method of applying paint to canvas in thick layers to create a raised surface. Check out the work of Louis Anquetin for more examples of this style.
