This watercolor shows Broad Street in Oxford at night. Two vague figures stand on the right. The artist painted it in soft grey washes over faint pencil lines. Malchair only showed one work in his lifetime. Yet he taught drawing to many students. His hazy night scenes became his trademark. Look up the Victoria and Albert Museum to see more of his work.
