Turkish sultans, sultanas and other historical figures is a 1620 by Nicolas de Clerck, a Baroque work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This is a black-and-white portrait of a man with a long beard and a turban. His face is framed inside a circle, and the lines of his fur collar stand out sharply. The background is plain, but the text around the circle spells out his name and title in fancy letters. The print looks old, with fine cross-hatching to show shadows and details. The artist signed it in the corner, but the words are in a language you might not recognize. If you like this style, check out Baroque art next.
The print by Nicolas de Clerck from 1620 depicts Suleiman I alongside Turkish sultans, sultanas, and other historical figures, with a title inscribed on the work.
