This image shows a chaotic, cramped stone archway packed with strange shapes. The walls are lined with odd carvings, broken columns, and what look like giant shells. Shadows stretch long and deep, making the space feel heavy and mysterious. In the middle, a few small figures stand dwarfed by the towering ruins. The artist used scratching and layering to build up the dark, tangled lines—almost like a maze. The heavy black marks and light areas create a sense of depth and pressure. Next, check out the technique: drypoint to see how artists like Piranesi made such dramatic textures.
