Pompone II de Bellière is a 1657 by Robert Nanteuil, a Baroque work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This black-and-white portrait shows a man in a fur-lined coat, looking straight ahead with a serious expression. His curly hair and mustache are detailed, and the background is a plain oval shape with some text around it. At the bottom, there’s a small shield with a coat of arms. The artist used shading to make the face stand out sharply against the dark background. This style makes the fur and skin textures look almost real.
