A musical party is a 1650 by Girolamo Rossi, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This print shows three people standing close together. The woman on the left wears a fancy hat and a light dress with lace trim. The man in the middle has a dark robe and a serious look, holding a small book or sheet of music. The man on the right is dressed in a long coat and a wig, holding a walking stick. Notice how the faces and hands are carefully detailed while the background stays plain. The artist used shading to make the figures stand out. Look up chiaroscuro next to see how this lighting trick works.
A musical gathering is depicted in a print on paper by Girolamo Rossi the Elder, created around 1650 and based on a composition by Giorgione.
