Adam și Eva is a 1850 by Unknown, held at Maramureș Ethnography and Folk Art County Museum.
This drawing shows two simple figures standing side by side in a circle. The background is bright yellow, and the border is packed with swirling red, orange, and green lines. Above them is a large eye with curly black lashes, and below, a rainbow arches over wavy green leaves. The figures look like they’re holding something small in their hands. The eye at the top might stand for God watching over them. The rainbow and leaves could be a nod to creation stories. Check out the Museum of Ethnography to see more pieces like this.
