Marriage of St. Catherine is a 1550 ink by Unknown, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This engraving shows a group of people gathered around a woman holding a baby. The scene looks busy, with lots of swirling fabric and dramatic poses. One man stands tall, another kneels, and a woman in the center holds the child while others reach toward her. The title says it’s *The Marriage of St. Catherine*, but the baby makes it feel like a nativity scene too. The artist copied a painting by Titian, but this version is simpler, using only black and white lines. Next, check out how this was made with woodcut.
