This black-and-white scene shows a small church with a pointed roof next to a tree. In front, a river runs through the middle, with a few boats carrying people. On the shore, a couple of figures stand near the water’s edge, and the whole scene looks quiet and still. The artist used a technique that lets them draw directly onto a metal plate, leaving lines that hold ink. This makes the details sharp but also gives it a scratchy, textured look. Next, check out etching to see how artists like this one create prints.
