Zhai Dakun

Qing dynasty, d. 1804
Zhai Dakun was a Qing dynasty Qing dynasty painting artist. 20 works are cataloged here, principally at Cleveland Museum of Art.
Zhai Dakun (died 1804) was a Chinese painter of the Qing dynasty, active in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He specialized in landscape painting, working in ink and color on paper and silk and drawing on the styles of earlier masters in the literati tradition. Dated works survive from the early 1800s, including a study of bamboo by a brookside from 1802. His landscapes follow the orthodox manner that prevailed among Qing-dynasty scholar-painters.
