This sheet shows five different flowers painted in bright colors. The biggest one has pink petals with white stripes and a yellow center. Smaller flowers sit around it—one looks like a tiny purple daisy, another has a fuzzy red-and-white bloom. Green leaves fill the gaps between stems. The flowers are drawn carefully, with soft watercolor shading. Each one is labeled with a tiny number, like a science book. Want to see how artists used watercolor back then? Check out the technique: watercolor.
