Study of Heads (recto); Crenelated Fortress (verso) is a 1504 by Agostino Carracci, a Renaissance work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This sketch shows three rough, quick drawings of people’s heads and shoulders on the left side. Their faces are blurred, with loose lines for hair and clothes. On the right, there’s a faint drawing of a castle with towers and high walls. The castle sketch looks like a quick idea, not a finished drawing. The people’s faces are more detailed but still feel like notes, not a polished portrait. If you like this style, look up Renaissance art next.
