Beatrix Potter painted a quiet countryside scene near Sidmouth. She used watercolours and worked between 1899 and 1910. Her trips to Sidmouth were short but important. She went there in 1899, 1901, 1902, 1904 and 1910. The bright colors and wide brushstrokes show how she loved the West Country.
