Robert Adam hired Agostino Brunias to paint five panels for his new breakfast room. They show lush plants and playful putti in soft colors. The figures look relaxed, not stiff. Brunias painted these while working in Britain. Adam liked his style enough to write, “he does all my ornaments and all my figures vastly well.” This style reminds some of Dutch flower still lifes.
