The So-Called Sepulcher of the Curiatii Brothers at Albano, with the Church of the Madonna della Stella in the distance at left is a 1770 by Carlo Labruzzi, a Romanticism work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This sketch shows a rocky hill with layered stone steps climbing up its side. At the top, there’s a small tower or ruin, while trees and bushes grow around it. To the left, a simple building with a sloped roof sits near a grassy area. A few people walk near the base of the hill, and the ground slopes down to a body of water in the foreground. The title hints this might be a real place—an old ruin called the Sepulcher of the Curiatii Brothers, with a church in the distance. The artist drew it carefully, focusing on the textures of the rocks and trees. Want to see more? Check out The Cleveland Museum of Art.
