Chinqua's house, with entrance to China Street, Canton is a 13 by George Chinnery, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This drawing shows a busy trading spot in 1828 Canton. It’s a view east of the old European and American warehouses along the Pearl River. European traders worked out of the buildings called “factories.” A local merchant’s house with a pavilion sits in the center. Old China Street runs beside it. This drawing depicts a view from the east of the former European and American trading premises, known as 'factories' or 'hongs,' situated on the northern bank of the Pearl River in Canton (Guangzhou). The central structure, topped by a pavilion, was occupied by the Cantonese merchant Liu Tung, also called Chung Qua, while to its left lies the entrance to 'China Street' (or 'Old China Street'), where Western traders purchased goods for export.
