Mr. Whiteman's house and Franciscan Fort, Macao is a 12 by George Chinnery, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
The drawing depicts "the forty pillared house," also known as John Clarmont Whiteman's residence, located at the end of the Praya Grande in Macau, overlooking the Franciscan Green; in the background are the steps and fort of S. Francisco. The sketches in the album containing this work were created from direct observation in Macau, Canton, and nearby areas. George Chinnery (1774–1852), a British artist, produced the drawing while living in Macau, where he settled in 1825 after earlier years in India. The work is part of an album of 93 drawings bequeathed in 1928 by James Orange.
