The Seven Vices: Pride is a 1510 by Hans Burgkmair the Elder, a Renaissance work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This black-and-white woodcut shows a woman holding a mirror in one hand and a long staff in the other. She’s dressed in fancy, old-fashioned clothes—lots of ruffles, a high collar, and a dress with peacock feathers down the side. Her hair is styled up, and she’s wearing jewelry like a necklace and earrings. The text above her head reads *"Die Hofari"* (which means "The Proud One" in German). This is part of a series called *The Seven Vices*, where each image represents a different flaw. Want to see more? Check out The Cleveland Museum of Art.
