The engraving shows Henry Woodward performing as Mercutio in *Romeo and Juliet*, published by W. Herbert in London in 1753, depicting his appearance in the role at Drury Lane on 29 November 1748. The print includes the text of the Queen Mab speech from Act I, scene iii beneath the image and is adhered to a paper backing.
