Marée Basse (Low Tide) is a 1831 ink by Eugène Isabey, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This print shows two old wooden ships stuck on a sandy shore at low tide. The water is rough, with waves crashing around them. Dark clouds fill the sky, making the scene feel stormy and dramatic. The title at the bottom, *Marée Basse*, means "low tide" in French. The ships look abandoned, half-covered in sand, as if time has forgotten them.
