This is a black-and-white woodcut of a bearded man with a halo. He’s kneeling on one knee, holding a long staff in his right hand. His left hand rests on his chest, and he wears a long robe with folds drawn in sharp lines. The text at the bottom reads *San Matthias Apostulus*, which means this is Saint Matthias, one of the apostles. The paper has a textured look, typical of woodcuts from that time. Next, look up the technique called woodcut.
