This sketch shows two stylized figures in fancy 18th-century clothes, standing on either side of a framed list of names. The woman holds a scroll, the man leans on a cane. Behind them, a crowd gathers under trees and tents, watching a stage. The list is a program for a theater show—*Ambulances d’Orient*—with names of actors and plays. The whole thing is drawn with loose, sketchy lines, like a quick draft. Next, check out etching to see how artists like this used ink and metal plates to make prints.
