The Round Passion: Christ Carrying the Cross is a 1509 by Lucas van Leyden, a Renaissance work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This engraving shows a busy scene with Jesus carrying a cross on his shoulder. Around him, soldiers and angels are scattered across the hillside. In the foreground, a woman kneels beside a sleeping dog, while another woman looks on. A castle sits in the background, and a tree stands tall near the center. The date "1509" is stamped in the top corner, marking when this was made. The artist packed a lot of action into a small space, using sharp lines to show movement and emotion.
