St. John the Baptist Surrounded by the Evangelists and Four Fathers of the Latin Church is a 1466 by Master E.S., a Renaissance work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This round metal plate is packed with tiny scenes. In the center, a man with a book sits on a throne. Around him, eight other figures stand in small boxes. Some have wings, some hold scrolls. Buildings and trees fill the background. The edges are decorated with swirls and leaves. The man in the middle is likely St. John the Baptist. The other figures might be saints or church leaders.
