Musicians: An Old Man and an Old Woman is a 1523 oil by Lucas van Leyden, a Northern Renaissance work, depicting Lute, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting depicts two elderly musicians sitting together outdoors. The man on the left is wearing a white shirt and red pants, and he's playing a lute. The woman on the right is dressed in a blue robe and is holding a bow and a stringed instrument. They're sitting on the ground, surrounded by trees and a blue sky with clouds. The woman's instrument appears to be a type of stringed instrument, possibly a fiddle or a viol. The man's lute is intricately carved, with a distinctive pear-shaped body.
