This is a carved stone relief showing a busy scene. Figures with curly hair and jewelry fill the space. Some stand tall, others kneel or hold objects. The carvings include flowers, animals, and what looks like a throne or chariot. The details are sharp, with lots of tiny patterns and faces in the background. This photo was taken in the 1850s by a doctor who traveled to India. He recorded temple carvings like this one to share with others. Look up Victoria and Albert Museum to see more photos like this.
