Depictions of a Spur-winged plover and Open-billed stork of Northern India, is a 1820 paint by Unknown, a Patna School of Painting work, depicting Crane, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows two birds, a spur-winged plover and an open-billed stork, standing side by side. The artist drew them in fine detail, with feathers and feet clearly shown. The colors are soft, using light browns and whites against a plain background. This work is part of the Romanticism movement, which often focused on nature and animals. These bird pictures likely came from northern India, where these species live. Want to see more like this? Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum.
