This is a long, narrow wooden block covered in tiny, evenly carved squares. The squares form rows of text, packed tightly side by side. Two small circular holes appear near the ends, like markers. The block is a printing tool—each square holds ink to stamp pages of a Buddhist scripture. It’s from Nepal, made over 900 years ago. Look up The Cleveland Museum of Art to see where it’s kept.
