Upper terrace of the Mausolum of Akbar, Sikandra. is a 1820 paint by Unknown, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This drawing shows a long, empty courtyard with two rows of arches. The arches have pointed tops and small windows with patterned glass. The floor is made of large, light-colored tiles with a narrow border of darker, decorated tiles. At the far end, there’s a small pavilion with a flat roof. The artist focused on clean lines and light shading to show depth. The empty space makes the building look calm and balanced. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see more drawings like this.
