四季江都名所 冬 隅田川之雪|Snow on the Sumida River is a 1835 ink by Utagawa Hiroshige, a Romanticism work, depicting Human Figure, held at Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This print shows a snowy riverbank at night. A lone figure in a straw hat walks along a bamboo fence, holding an umbrella. Tall pine trees stand in the background, and the sky is dark with falling snow. The artist used fine lines to show texture in the snow and bamboo. This print is part of a series about famous places in Japan. Look up Utagawa Hiroshige to see more of his work.
