Title Page to Gilbert Burnet, Historie of theReformation of the Church of England is a 1674 ink by Robert White, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This engraving shows two men standing on either side of a large banner. The man on the left wears a fancy hat and coat, holding a sword and a book labeled "Supremacy." The man on the right has a long robe and holds a Bible with the word "Religion" above him. Between them, a tower scene shows people tearing down statues labeled "Superstition," while others climb ladders to pull down pipes. The title at the top reads *The Historie of the Reformation of the Church of England*. The whole image uses sharp lines and shadows to create drama.
