This drawing shows a crowded room with people copying paintings. Some sit at easels, sketching large works on the wall. Others stand or walk around, holding pencils and paper. The space has high ceilings, arched windows, and lots of framed art hanging everywhere. Notice how the artist used fine lines to create shadows and textures—this is called cross-hatching. The scene looks busy but organized, like a real studio where students practice. Check out technique: cross-hatching to see how artists build depth with lines.
